Texas has been at the forefront of some of the biggest attacks on abortion and reproductive health care in our nation’s history. Yet Texas is home to millions of people who will at some point need safe abortion or some other form of reproductive health care. The Texas Legislature has voted to chip away crucial access, leaving safe abortion care and other services completely out of reach for thousands of people in Texas.
The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity, Avow Texas, Texas Equal Access Fund, and West Fund are direct assistance and advocacy organizations in Texas working to improve access to abortion and public attitudes toward abortion access. Our organizations believe that access to comprehensive reproductive health care should be accessible and affordable, and that all people should have the resources and support they need to build healthy lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. Working at the local level through city and county initiatives, we are meeting people where they are to build support for abortion access and reproductive justice across Texas. As we build support on the local level, we build a groundswell of people who will then have the power to make change statewide.
Together, we envision a Texas in which there is widespread public support for abortion access from the ground up, and abortion is accessible to everyone who wants or need it — stigma free.

The onslaught of restrictions on reproductive health care, including abortion, must stop. We know that Texans have had enough of these attacks, and that there is a strong desire amongst our communities to take back our health and autonomy.
